They run very smoothly in my 15yr old computer. I also want to know if it comes with dvd writing and burning capabilities like windows 7 had, and maybe they could add to the next OS an audio file editor and encrypt the whole message. Me myself have a AMD hex core 3Ghz from 7 years ago and tried both OSs and there were a lot of install crashes and stability issues before it kinda not really worked. Old desktop means not able to run windows 7.
The strange thing is these android OSs are based on linux and linux runs on old desktops. I think it has more to do with the hardware than software.
