Story is so-so, but I don't expect a mahjong game to have much of a story. There is a good variety of tile layouts and several levels. The contest mode seems to be what you automatically start playing without selecting anything except the layout.
Nice game, but I found myself getting bored after about the 10th layout, so I can't see that it would retain my interest throughout. With the timed feature, it seems attention is drawn to removing all the tiles instead of going for the highest score.
There are other mahjong games out there that I like better. Still, this is an easy simple game for those who want to relax. Rated 3 out of 5 by cassiesmom1 from boring First of all, I hate it whenever there is not an option for a casual mode on any game. This was probably a dealbreaker for me as I play games to relax. If I feel rushed it kills the game for me and how hard can it be to make this an option as it is on most all games that I play?
Second, there was no scary music or characters to make this game spooky in any way. Last, I had a difficult time figuring out which tiles were available to use. I've played mahjong before but it seemed that tiles that I should have been able to use were not. Fortunately there was an option to highlight the available tiles and I did like that about this game but could never figure it out completely.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Chickadees3 from Not my cup of Mahjong This is a colorful version of Mahjong but not spooky at all. The music is too bland and the graphics too cartoonish for this to be considered spooky however that's not necessarily a bad thing.
This version requires you to remove designated quantities and colors of tiles in a designated amount of time within a designated number of moves. When I play Mahjong I don't want such a tightly controlled set up. There are trophies to be earned but I wouldn't enjoy playing long enough this way to earn those trophies. Although I won't be purchasing this I can recommend you try it and see what you think because I didn't absolutely hate it.

There really isn't anything spooky about this game; no scary graphics, no sound effects and the meditation music in the backgroun was a bit too much after a while. Its simplicity in design and style makes the game look dated with the 2D graphics in a comic strip form.
