Do I need to rename it or do I need to get this file somewhere else? Do I need different bios for different games? Do I need to change the bios if I wanted to try another game? How can I identify which bios should I use for a game? Thats a lots of questions, if you have some time please make it clear for me. Great Work, btw. It's a valiant effort, and probably a good choice for console sets, but the microcomputers represented here have only a fraction of what's available in their whole gaming libraries.
So bear in mind you're missing hundreds or thousands in some cases games for them if using this collection. It is appreciated. I was going to do something like this myself and realized I had a pack that did it already so I thought id come here. A lot of people are missing out on a lot of great non-english content.
Thanks again. Reviewer: Puttt - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - March 19, Subject: Perfect collection Thanks so much for giving the 1G1R treatment to the no-intro roms. I notice some weird decisions though like using some Sonic roms from the DS game Sonic Classic Collection instead of the originals.
Essentially from what I can gather I need to output a non-merged set - but I think I need to find a specific 1G1R datfile first? I don't know It'll probably be easier. Dinsdale It's easier to follow the advice from the Arcade doc page - get a non-merged set directly if you don't want to bother with other tools. I get that now. So now I need a dat file with this information, which is proving impossible to find. I think I've sussed the software itself I downloaded a piece of software called Arcade Manager that did this for me.
My list is down to , which is about right. Just get the DAT from the Github. Regardless, I've acomplished what I wanted by using Arcade Manager. So easy and fast, and just a GUI that works. The DAT contains this info. Clrmamepro is way too complex anyway - this Arcade Manager did it quickly and easily with no DAT file needed.
Dinsdale The problem with just using Arcade Manager is that your ROMs aren't verified to be what the emulator expects so if they don't match the emulator they may not run correctly or at all, and, in the case of MAME emulator, the game would just not run not that there aren't games like that in MAME due to it being an archival project.
While Retool is smart enough to automatically match certain types of parents and clones, there are certain situations that require manual assignment, like when a title has a different name in different regions. To achieve this, Retool keeps clone lists. At the time of writing, Retool's clone lists are the most thorough that I know of.
When all else failed, I did some good old web searching in order to turn up information. At some point I discovered FilterQuest , a similar tool, and added some missing titles from there. There have also been plenty of community contributions, from those who have filed issues on GitHub. Clone lists are updated independently of the program, and are formatted as JSON files. They are stored in a subfolder called clonelists , which is in the same folder as Retool.
You can update them from the GUI using the File menu, by running updateclonelists. For the answers to common queries, check out the Wiki. Clonerel uses openpyxl to generate an Excel file. You'll need at least OpenPyxl v3. Install it and other dependencies with pip. Skip to content. Star BSDClause License. A rom set usually contains a large number of version of the same game, be it corresponding to different regions or other variants such as bootleg copies, hacks, etc.
After the playlist is generated, it creates a series of zip files for each of the selected files in the current directory, comprising the sanitized rom set.
